Julie Attenborough

Julie is a registered mental health nurse. Julie joined City, University of London in 1997 having previously worked in community mental health services specialising in substance use problems and homelessness. She has undertaken research about the relationship between homelessness and mental illness, student preferences in assessment, the use of audio feedback for formative assessment, health students' use of mobile devices, work-based learning and professional identity. She is Associate Professor and the Associate Dean, Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Health Sciences, working with a number of health services providers across London and the South East.

Judy Brook

Judy Brook

Judy has a background in health visiting and NHS management. She joined City University in 2015 as a lecturer in health visiting and is part of the public health nursing team, supporting the education of health visitors, school nurses and district nurses, with a particular lead for health visiting. During her academic career, Judy has been involved in research in to public health workforce development. She worked on two projects, one to evaluate the impact of the Health Visitor Implementation Plan on the health visitor workforce and the second to explore the impact of education programmes on the movement of sexual health services towards integrated service delivery. She has a particular interest in how policy is interpreted and implemented in practice and how this is supported through education.

Professor Rachael-Anne Knight

Rachael-Anne is a phonetician with interests in prosody, psycholinguistics and pedagogy. She joined City University London in 2005 after studying at Roehampton, UCL and the University of Cambridge. Her main areas of phonetics research involve intonation, rhythm, rhotics, clinical phonetics and accent perception. Rachael-Anne has a strong interest in education and pedagogy, and as Associate Dean of Education has strategic responsibility for these aspects across the School of Health Sciences. She is the School’s lead for the Teaching Excellence Framework, and works on a number of cross-institutional projects such as learning spaces, learning analytics and electronic attendance monitoring systems. She has been a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2015, and a National Teaching Fellow since 2016.

Richard Johnson

Richard qualified as a Registered General Nurse from the Harrogate and Northallerton College of Nursing Studies. He completed a BSc (Hons) and an MSc in Nursing at St Bartholomew School of Nursing and Midwifery, a Diploma in Dental Nursing with City and Guilds and is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate at LSBU. Richard is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Vocational Learning within the School of Health and Social Care at London South Bank University. Richard’s teaching experience includes vocational health and social care education, as well as project management. He is registered as a Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission.
